I use to make my students create their own south park character and place it on their computer desk. They are fun to make and you can create so many different characters. The website is www.sp-studio.de. Try it out. =) I made alot of these actually...I use to make these all the time for fun and post them on my myspace or facebook account. I've made some of my friends and family as well. It's just a fun little thing to do when you need to express your feelings or want to make a funny little cartoon.
Below is my yahoo avatar. I never use it but I thought creating it was fun and the facial jestures you can make are great. I suppose people who use yahoo messager use these most often and then everyone who you chat with will be able to know what kind of mood you are in when they chat with you. =)
This is a picture I took of myself when I turned 33. Working with professional photographers (wedding, families, babies, etc. etc.) we always made everyone look good by cleaning up the face and body. I called myself the "nip tuck doctor." All I did with this is smoothed out my skin tone, took away the dark circles under eyes and brightened the white and green of my eye balls. This could be my doppelganger for sure.
As for the readings, I love, love, love the principles of authentic promotion artist statement guide. I have used it before and it really is wonderful and opens up so many hidden thoughts and ideas about your work.
